Curated.Works: New Old Tales – Part 3

New Old Tales is finally coming to an end, and I hope you are having fun with this series so far! For the last piece, Svetlana Makarova has decided to create a fairytale scene with Rapunzel (in Alexander McQueen), Alice (in Dolce & Gabbana), and her Rabbit.

Here is the conversation:

Alice: “Don’t I look good in your blonde hair?”
Rapunzel: “Alice… I think you need to grow up, and stop playing with my hair!”
Rabbit: “Oh no…”

Curated.Works: New Old Tales – Part 2

Back in June, I unveiled the first piece of my collaboration with Svetlana Makarova and it was about the following combination: Snow White x Alexander McQueen x Red Riding Hood x Dolce & Gabbana. Today, it’s time for me to introduce the 2nd piece to you.

In this piece,  the Snow Queen (in Alexander McQueen) and Maleficent (in Dolce & Gabbana) are having a gossip session and the conversation is something like this:

Maleficent: “How difficult it is to find a Good Man for a Bad Woman? Let’s face it, we are beautiful and classy! ”
Snow Queen: “Yeah, I know. I have given up on love for a very long time…”

Curated.Works: New Old Tales – Part 1

Today, allow me to present you yet another amazing new Draw A Dot. WITH series.

Aside from Taste of Fashion, I also have another interesting idea for this F/W 2014 season. Both Dolce & Gabbana and Alexander McQueen latest collections have the fairytale theme, but with a dark twist, and I want to combine them together to make an interesting story. For this particular project, I decided to ask Svetlana Makarova to come onboard for this joy ride.

The first piece features Snow White (in Alexander McQueen) and Red Riding Hood (in Dolce & Gabbana). According to Svetlana, the conversation between these 2 girls are something like this:

Red Riding Hood: Are you sure this is going to work?
Snow White: Oh, of course! I’ve tried it myself – you bite the apple, you fall asleep!

I like the concept of this illustration a lot and both fairytale characters look great in the outfits. The glowing apple actually adds a nice touch to the entire composition as your eyes will first focus on the fruit, and to the girls, then back to the wolf.
