I launched the Draw A Dot Instagram account at the end of August 2014, and it has been gaining a lot of buzz. The Instagram open call was shortly introduced to the community and it is now one of the staples of Draw A Dot!

As many of you know, the purpose of Draw A. Dot is to promote illustrators. If you are looking for ways to build your portfolio, I highly recommend you enter the open calls. A lot of illustrators have received different opportunities from brands after they entered the open calls!

Before you enter the open call, I highly recommend you to watch this video as I gave you tips on how to enter competitions/ open calls. This video was the first live stream I ever did with the Patreon members (so now you get a taste of how Patreon works as well).

Draw A Dot x Liquides Imaginaires Contest

We are excited to present the next contest to the Draw A Dot community!

Draw A Dot is teaming up with Liquides Imaginaires on a fun contest! The year is the 10the anniversary of their fragrance Dom Rosa and to celebrate this special occasion, they have released the special edition Dom Rosa Millésimé.

What you need to do:

Your task is to create an illustration based on this fragrance. Imagine this is an ad campaign, how would you create an illustration and have people wanting this fragrance? Make sure you read the notes to get inspired!

1) Please prepare an illustration (only 1) in .jpg or .png form. The file should be no more than 5MB (If you insist it has to be more than 5MB, please use Dropbox or WeTransfer and send me the link). You can only submit one illustration. Please name the file with the following format: firstname-lastname.jpg.

2) Send the illustration to marcus@drawadot.com.

3) Tell me your name, and Instagram account.

4) Make sure you follow Draw A Dot. (@DrawADot) and Liquides Imaginaires (@liquides_imaginaires)

5) You will get a confirmation from me within 48 hours. (If you don’t follow the instructions, you will not be getting any confirmation from me as your piece will be disqualified)

Deadline and Publication Date:
Deadline is April 9th, 2023 11:59pm EST. Late submissions will not be accepted. The final 3 winners will be announced on the on Monday April 17, 2023 on Draw A Dot and Liquides Imaginaires Instagram account. The illustration with the most likes by Wednesday April 19, 2023 (11:59pm EST) will receive a prize from Liquides Imaginaires. We will have an IG live on April 20, 2023 to announce the winner.

Please Note: If you post your illustration on your own personal account and you are one of the final 3, the likes from your personal account won’t count towards the final result.

Prize:

The winner will be receiving a bottle of Dom Rosa Millésimé.

– In order to create a large impact on social media, resulting in more exposure for you, I encourage all illustrators to wait to release their final illustrations together after we release the final 3 illustrations on April 17, 2023 and not before. By releasing/posting them all on the same day we increase our chances of making it viral. All posts should be tagged #DrawADotLiquidesImaginaires & #Domrosa.

– You are of course encouraged to show your work in progress teaser images on social media platforms before the final reveal to help build hype. All work-in-progress images should also be tagged #DrawADotLiquidesImaginaires & #Domrosa. I will also repost the IG stories on Instagram!
